Personal tax preparation in Wenatchee

Your 1040 done right and off your plate, with someone to call when a letter shows up in June.

Who this is for

Households who would rather not do their own taxes, or who did and are not sure it was right. Maybe something changed this year: a new job, a side business, a house, a baby, a parent you help support, an inheritance, or retirement income for the first time. Maybe you just want a person to look at it.

It is also for people who used to file a simple return and now have a W-2, a 1099 and a rental, and the software questions stopped making sense.

What is included

  • Return preparation. Your federal Form 1040 and the schedules that go with it, prepared and reviewed before filing.
  • A plain English walkthrough. Before you sign, we explain what changed from last year and why.
  • Deductions and credits you qualify for. We ask the questions that surface them. We do not promise a refund amount, because nobody honest can before seeing your documents.
  • Extensions when they make sense. If something is missing, we file Form 4868 so you are covered while it is sorted out.
  • Year round help. If the IRS sends a letter, you send it to us and we explain what it means and what to do next.

What to bring

Last year's return. W-2s from every employer. Any 1099 forms: interest, dividends, freelance or contract income, retirement distributions, Social Security. Mortgage interest and property tax statements. Records of charitable gifts. Childcare costs and the provider's tax ID. Health insurance forms if you bought coverage through the marketplace. And anything new that you are not sure about. When in doubt, send it.

All of it comes through a secure upload link, never by email.

Washington and your personal return

Washington has no individual income tax today, so most households here file only the federal return. There is one exception worth knowing: Washington's capital gains tax applies to some large long term gains, like selling a big block of stock. It does not apply to the sale of your house. If you sold investments this year, mention it on the call and we will tell you whether it touches you.

How it works this season

Book a short call and we will send a checklist built for your situation instead of a generic one. Upload documents as they arrive through January and February. Once everything is in, we prepare the return, then go over it with you before anything is filed: what changed, what you owe or get back, and anything worth adjusting for next year, like withholding. You sign electronically, we file, and you get a copy for your records along with a short summary in plain English.

What it costs to start

Every personal return is quoted up front. The price goes up with what is attached to the return: a business schedule, a rental property, stock sales, or several states. You get a quote once we see your documents, before we prepare anything.

Questions about personal tax returns

When should I get my documents to you?

As soon as your last form arrives, usually by mid February. Earlier gets you on the calendar sooner. If April is close, we can still file an extension and take the time to get it right.

Can you fix a return I already filed?

Often, yes. If something was missed or entered wrong, an amended return can correct it. Send us the filed copy and we will tell you whether amending is worth it.

I got a letter from the IRS. What now?

Do not ignore it, and do not panic. Most letters ask a specific question or point out a mismatch. Upload it to the portal and we will explain it in plain English and tell you the next step.
