Monthly bookkeeping in Wenatchee

Your books closed on schedule every month, so you know what you made, what you owe, and what is sitting in the bank.

Who this is for

Owners who are good at the work and tired of the paperwork. Maybe you run a crew, a shop, a clinic or a one van service business. You check the bank balance to decide if it was a good month. Receipts go in the truck console, and QuickBooks gets opened twice a year when something forces it.

Monthly bookkeeping fits when you want a real number every month instead of a guess, when a lender or partner has started asking for financials, or when tax time keeps turning into a scramble. It also fits independent professionals who bill clients directly and want income and expenses kept apart from personal spending.

What is included

  • Transaction categorization. Every deposit and every charge coded to the right account, with questions sent to you in one batch instead of one at a time.
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations. Each account matched to its statement so the balance in the books is the balance in the bank.
  • Monthly close. The month gets locked once it is right, so nothing quietly changes later.
  • Reports on schedule. A profit and loss and a balance sheet each month, plus a short note on anything that moved more than you would expect.
  • QuickBooks setup when you need it. A chart of accounts built for how your business actually earns and spends, and bank feeds connected correctly.

What we need from you

Read only access to your business bank and card accounts, or monthly statements if you prefer. Access to your bookkeeping file if one already exists. Answers to a short list of questions each month, usually five minutes of your time. And a heads up when something unusual happens, like a new loan, a vehicle purchase or a large one time payment from a customer.

Receipts and statements come in through a secure upload link we set up for you on day one. Please do not email statements or tax documents.

What it costs to start

Monthly bookkeeping is a flat monthly fee, so you know the cost before the month starts. Your price depends on how many accounts we reconcile, how many transactions come through in a typical month, and whether payroll or sales tax reporting is part of the job. You get a fixed monthly quote after the free call, before any work starts.

Why monthly beats once a year

Books caught up once a year tell you what already happened. Books closed every month let you act while it still matters. You see a slow quarter while there is time to adjust, you know your real margin before you quote the next job, and your tax preparer gets a finished year instead of a box. Most of the stress people feel about taxes is really stress about not knowing their numbers.

Questions about monthly bookkeeping

Do I have to switch to QuickBooks?

If you already use a bookkeeping system that works, we can talk about keeping it on the call. If you are starting fresh or your file is a mess, QuickBooks is what we set up, because most lenders and preparers can read it.

How long until my first monthly report?

Once we have access and the opening balances are confirmed, your first close usually lands the month after we start. If your books are behind, we catch them up first through cleanup so the monthly reports start from a correct number.

Can you handle my sales tax and B&O returns too?

Ask on the call. The Washington excise tax return is built from the same records we keep each month, so it often makes sense to have it filed from the same set of books.
