Bookkeeping and tax help in East Wenatchee

Just across the river, and a lot of our clients cross that bridge every day.

East Wenatchee sits on the Douglas County side of the Columbia, and plenty of people who live there work in Wenatchee, Chelan County, or out on job sites all over the valley. That daily commute across the river shows up on tax returns in small ways: mileage that may or may not count, a side business started from the garage, and a household where one spouse earns a W-2 and the other invoices clients.

Contractors and the trades

A lot of the business owners we hear from on the east side are contractors: framers, electricians, roofers, landscapers, small remodel crews. The work is good, but the paperwork piles up fast. Materials get bought on three different cards, subcontractors need W-9s before they get paid, and every 1099 is due by January 31. Job costing, knowing what each job really made after materials and labor, is usually the first thing to slip.

Monthly bookkeeping keeps each job's costs tied to the job. Payroll handles the crew. And because Washington's B&O tax is figured on gross receipts instead of profit, a contractor with thin margins needs to know the excise return is right every period, not just at year end.

East Wenatchee households

For families, the questions are usually simpler but still worth getting right. A new house, a first child, a parent moving in, or a first year of side income can change a return more than people expect. Washington has no individual income tax today, so the federal return is the main event. We prepare it, explain it, and stay available when the IRS sends a letter in the summer.
